Nicole Pitcon, co-founder of online homewares store, Russet, shares her shoptrawl wishlist...
I'm so lucky I can combine my graphic design background and love of decorating. Russet is over one year old now and always growing with our tastes and trends.
We’re constantly reading magazines, blogs, Instagram, Pinterest, even a visit to a homewares shop can help with inspiration. We put a lot of thought and effort into getting a design ‘just-right’ and once we're both happy we know it's a keeper! Admittedly because we’re busy we get most of our motivation and inspiration from websites, and shoptrawl is a great place to window-shop and know I'm supporting local businesses at the same time.
I've loved choosing my wishlist on shoptrawl. And I might've made a purchase or two in the process ;)
NIC'S WISHLIST
Baggu Leather Bag at The Flock. I’m a little obsessed with anything leather at the moment. Hence this choice. I’ve been looking for a larger bag that’s still stylish and practical.
Minti Baby Sleeveless Hoody at Tiny Style. This is the cutest! Would be great for my little man. Love it.
Leanne Culy Pins at Homebase Collections. These are cute! I’ve never seen anything like these before. They’d be perfect for us at russet with the ever changing artwork in my home (or studio). Also great for my sons pinboard to hang is works of art!
Leanne Culy Sideboard at Homebase Collections. Anything that has a point of difference gets my attention. I’ve had my eye on this for a long time.
Ferm Living Basket at designstuff. This would look great in my lounge. Doubling as storage is a winner for me.
russet lumberjack hooks at russet. This is one of my favourite of our creations, and I love the simplicity of the ash hardwood.
Sombrilla at Cranmore Home. I’ve been looking at these for a while now. Mostly because of the flexibility to be adjusted as required. Might have to go for it with Summer on it’s way.
Fleece Trousers AOP at Yellow Dandy. I’m always partial to a little leopard print. Even better when they’re teeny tiny pants.
MOD Black Tea Towel at Booie + Ben. I actually have a few of these already. The linen is so nice and they're really durable as tea towels. The geometric print fits in nicely with my home.
Marz Pendants at Booie + Ben. I’m drawn to these. We’re about to embark on a bathroom reno and these would be perfect.
Feliz Bed linen at Feliz. I’ve always been very reserved with bed linen. I love crisp white and neutral tones for a bedroom but at the same time a little pop of colour like this would be so nice.
Paper Toy Sack at The Greater Good. I’ve been on the hunt for toy baskets for ages. This is a great inexpensive solution. Plus you’re not limited to toys with their other named bags available.
